Operations Geologist

Position:
Geological supervision of operations for the oil and gas industry.

Job definition:
The candidate is able to supervise the mud logging services and conduct formation pressure evaluation and gas interpretation. He is experienced in lithological interpretation, coring supervision and geological analysis. His skills comprise wireline logging and MWD – LWD QA/QC, audit of the contractor’s unit, open hole wireline log interpretation, LWD / MWD logs, and cased hole logs. He is acquainted with DST / RFT localization and assists to perforating and production decisions. Geosteering in highly deviated / extended reach wells and HT / HP wells experience are required.
 
The candidate assures well prognosis, pre-spud meeting organization, preparation of tender and cost estimation, relation between operator and partners and daily reports.
 
Software experience with Gravitas, Predict, Powerlog, Geolog 6 and seismic interpretation software are required.
 
Mobility:
International with 4 week/4 week rotational agenda for Europe, Africa and South America for major oil and gas operating companies.
 
Specifications:
University degree in Geology or, Geophysics.
15 years experience minimum in well site and operations in oil and gas exploration.
Experience in coaching and training will be appreciated.

A GeorexUK/ASB Joint Venture 

The Petroleum Agency of South Africa has issued the following announcement -

"Petroleum Agency SA is pleased to announce the following: In the Tugela Area, we have accepted an application for an Exploration Right, over 4 quarter degree blocks, viz. 2931C, 2931D, 2932A, 2932C from Silver Wave Energy Pte. Ltd., of Singapore.

     The remainder of the area is now available for licence by direct negotiation." (The Georex/ASB report and data package covers the remaining areas for licence).

     "In the Orange Basin Deepwater Area, the Agency has accepted an application for an Exploration Right over the entire area offered, from Shell International Exploration & Production B.V. of the Netherlands. "
